Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our research peptides, ordering, shipping, and quality standards.

General Questions

What are research peptides?

Research peptides are short chains of amino acids used exclusively for scientific and laboratory research purposes. They are synthesised to replicate naturally occurring peptides found in the human body, allowing researchers to study their properties and mechanisms of action.

Our peptides are manufactured to the highest purity standards (minimum 98%) and come with Certificates of Analysis to verify quality.

Are peptides legal in the UK?

Yes, research peptides are legal to purchase in the UK when sold for legitimate laboratory and research purposes. UK Peptide Shop operates in full compliance with UK regulations.

It's important to note that our products are sold strictly for research use only and are not intended for human or veterinary use.

How are peptides different from steroids?

Peptides and steroids are fundamentally different substances:

  • Peptides are short chains of amino acids that signal specific biological processes. They work by binding to receptors and triggering natural responses.
  • Steroids are synthetic hormones that directly alter hormone levels in the body.

Peptides are generally more targeted in their action and work with the body's natural systems rather than overriding them.

Ordering & Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept a variety of secure payment methods for your convenience:

  • All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro)
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Bank transfer for larger orders

All payments are processed securely through our encrypted payment gateway.

Can I place an order by phone?

We currently only accept orders through our website to ensure accurate order processing and maintain detailed records for quality assurance purposes.

If you need assistance placing an order, please contact our customer support team and we'll be happy to guide you through the process.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship to select European countries. International orders typically arrive within 5-10 business days depending on the destination and customs processing times.

Important: International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees. Please check your local regulations regarding research peptides before ordering.

Shipping & Delivery

How long does UK delivery take?

We offer fast UK mainland shipping:

  • Standard Delivery: 2-3 business days (£4.95)
  • Express Delivery: Next business day (£7.95)
  • Free Standard Shipping: On orders over £75

Orders placed before 2pm on business days are typically dispatched the same day.

Is packaging discreet?

Absolutely. We understand the importance of privacy. All orders are shipped in plain, unmarked packaging with no external indication of the contents or sender details that would identify the nature of your purchase.

Your invoice is included inside the package rather than on the outside.

Will I receive tracking information?

Yes, every order includes full tracking. Once your order is dispatched, you'll receive an email with your tracking number and a link to track your parcel's progress in real-time.

Standard orders are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48, while express orders use Royal Mail Tracked 24 or DPD Next Day.

Quality & Testing

Are your peptides third-party tested?

Yes, quality is our top priority. All our peptides undergo rigorous third-party testing to verify:

  • Purity levels (minimum 98%)
  • Molecular identity
  • Absence of contaminants

We work with independent laboratories to ensure unbiased verification of our products.

Do you provide Certificates of Analysis?

Yes, we provide a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every product. COAs are available to download directly from each product page and include detailed results from HPLC and mass spectrometry testing.

If you need additional documentation for your research, please contact our team.

Where are your peptides manufactured?

Our peptides are manufactured in ISO-certified facilities that follow strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines. We source from established, reputable suppliers with proven track records in peptide synthesis.

Every batch is tested before being made available for sale to ensure consistent quality.

Handling & Storage

How do I reconstitute peptides?

Reconstitution involves dissolving the lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide powder in bacteriostatic water. The general process is:

  1. Clean the vial top with an alcohol swab
  2. Draw the appropriate amount of bacteriostatic water
  3. Inject slowly down the side of the vial
  4. Gently swirl until fully dissolved

For detailed instructions and our reconstitution calculator, visit our Peptide Calculator page.

How should I store peptides?

Lyophilized (powder) peptides: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration (2-8°C) is recommended for long-term storage. Can remain stable for up to 2 years when stored properly.

Reconstituted peptides: Must be refrigerated (2-8°C) and used within 4-6 weeks depending on the specific peptide. Never freeze reconstituted peptides.

What supplies do I need for peptide research?

Basic supplies for peptide research include:

  • Bacteriostatic water for reconstitution
  • Insulin syringes for accurate measurement
  • Alcohol swabs for sterile handling
  • Sharps bin for safe disposal

We stock a full range of research supplies in our Supplies & Accessories collection.
